4 Ohio men accused of imprisoning a woman, cutting her hair in Butler Township
Four Ohio men were charged after police said they imprisoned a woman, cut her hair and burned her with hot water on Wednesday, Oct. 29, in an apartment on Division Street in Lyndora.
Butler Township police said Aiden Nasir Suren, 19, led the assault, along with David Anthony Anderson, 18, and Resean Jamar Graham, 19, all of Youngstown, and Elijah Josiah Roberts, 21, of Columbus.
Police said they responded to a Penn Avenue apartment for reports of an assault and spoke with a woman in the apartment. The woman told police that five or six men attacked her in an apartment nearby and accused her of stealing from them.
The woman told police the men cornered her in a bathroom, held her down, cut her hair, burned her with hot water, whipped her with a cord and slapped, punched and kicked her. She said the men also stole her wallet, purse and phone so she could not call for help. She told police she believed they were armed.
The men told the woman they would kill her if she contacted the police, according to charging documents.
Police visited the residence and detained Anderson, Graham, Roberts and a woman who was not charged in the incident. Police investigated the bathroom and found a pair of clippers and the woman’s hair all over the floor.
The woman detained in the apartment with the three men told police she was forced to sit on the couch during the incident and her phone was taken from her. She told police that Suren committed most of the violence and he had been yelling and smacking the assaulted woman.
When the assaulted woman attempted to hide in the bathroom, the men cornered her, police said.
The assaulted woman sustained several lacerations, burns, cuts and bruises all over her body. She was transported by Butler Ambulance Service to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, police said.
Suren was charged with one felony count each of aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and one misdemeanor count each of false imprisonment, unlawful restraint, terroristic threats, simple assault, conspiracy to commit unlawful restraint and conspiracy to commit simple assault.
Roberts was charged with felony conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and one misdemeanor count each of false imprisonment, controlled substance possession, drug paraphernalia possession, conspiracy to commit false imprisonment, conspiracy to commit unlawful restraint and conspiracy to commit simple assault.
Police said Oxycodone was found in Roberts’ right sock.
