Parker

Ruth L. Parker, 95, of Saxonburg, formerly of Pittsburgh, went to be with her Savior on Thursday at the Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot.

She was born March 17, 1916, to Joseph Oliver Parker and Marie E. Schwartz Parker and lived in Pittsburgh and Butler all her life. Miss Parker was formerly a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Millvale and more recently, St. Luke Lutheran Church, Cabot.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Robert Oliver Parker, and one nephew, Richard Scott Parker.

Survivors include one brother, Donald Gail Parker and his wife, Bonnie, of Abingdon, Va.; one sister-in-law, Jean Perry Parker of Charleston, S.C.; her nieces and nephews, Donna Parker-Campbell and her husband, John, of Abingdon, Va., Linda Parker Taylor and her husband, Gary, of Manassas, Va., Joseph Thurman Parker and his wife, Robin, of Manassas, Va., Randolph Robert Parker and his wife, Julia Najjar-Parker, of Charleston, S.C., Wayne David Parker of Charleston, S.C., and Mark Owen Parker of Pampano Beach, Fla.; five great-nephews; two great-nieces; and four great-great- nieces.

Ruth’s interests were traveling, genealogy, painting, sewing and singing in the Pittsburgh Lutheran Choir. She was employed by American Type and Duquesne Light Co. for more than 35 years.

PARKER — A memorial service for Ruth L. Parker, who died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Lund Chapel at Concordia Lutheran Ministries with the Rev. Jack Hartman officiating.Burial will follow at Mount Royal Cemetery, Glenshaw.Memorial donations may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church, 330 Hannahstown Road, Cabot, PA 16023 or to the Saxonburg Fire Company.
