John William Morrow Jr., 57, of Slippery Rock died Friday at UPMC Passavant Cranberry Place after a long battle with cancer.

He was born April 24, 1956 at Sewickley, Allegheny County, to John William Morrow Sr. and Martha Ann Stolar Morrow.

He married Deborah Ann Kriever on Oct. 16, 1976.

He was a 1975 graduate of Quaker Valley High School. He was employed by Baierl Chevrolet in Wexford for 27 years as an auto body technician before his illness.

John loved spending time with his family, going to his camp in Brookville, hunting, fishing and NASCAR.

John is survived by his wife of 37 years, Debbie; one son, Brian D. at home; one daughter, Danielle L. (Jesse Whitman) of Austin, Pa.; one granddaughter, Jocelyn L. Whitman of Austin, Pa.; his parents in Leetsdale; one sister, Janice A. (Barry) Ruth of Ambridge; one brother, Gary K. (Yvonne) of Pierpont, Ohio; his in-laws, Bertha M. and George D. Kriever of Sewickley; two sisters-in-law, Shirley J. (Shawn) Smith of Powder Springs, Ga., and Denise R. (Bob) Lawrence of Sewickley; as well as several nieces and nephews.

MORROW — A funeral service for John William Morrow Jr., who died Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock at 8 p.m. Sunday.Family and friends will gather at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 6:30 p.m. until time of the service at 8 p.m.Memorial contributions may be given to the Slippery Rock Rescue Team, PO Box 117, Slippery Rock, PA 16057 for the new construction to house their operations.
