Catherine Kunze
Catherine M. Sarver Kunze, 80, of Prospect died unexpectedly Monday morning at UPMC, Pittsburgh.
Born Jan. 3, 1927, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Herman M. and Frieda Hammer Sarver and was a descendant of the Sarver family that founded Sarver.
She was a member of Grace Church of Harmony, where she was very active with volunteer work.
Mrs. Kunze was co-coordinator of Caps For Kids. She also was active in Samaritan's Purse, sponsored children from World Vision and was an active volunteer at area nursing homes. She was a former Girl Scout leader.
Surviving are three daughters, Ms. Circa Kunze-Kind of Anaheim, Calif., Carla and her husband, Mikell Schultheis, of Acworth, Ga., and Heidi and her husband, Robert Lombardi, of Shaker Heights, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Rebekah and Timothy Schultheis, both of Acworth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Kunze, who died Feb. 25, 2006; and a brother, Richard Sarver.
