LANCASTER TWP -- An unidentified man was transported to a hospital after flipping his SUV in the middle of Whitestown Road Wednesday.

Travelling east, the man had swerved into an embankment on the north side of the road and flipped the Chevy HHR onto its roof, according to a witness statement relayed by police.

Patrolman Eric Magness of the Lancaster Township Police Department said the man was partially entrapped. He said it took about 10 minutes to remove the man from the vehicle.

Afterward, the man was sent to Allegheny General Hospital for unknown injuries. The wreck closed the road, but crews are working to clear the scene.
