George L. Kurn Jr.
George L. Kurn Jr., 76, of Natrona Heights passed away Thursday at Applewood Personal Care Home in Brackenridge.
He was born Feb. 1, 1942, in Brackenridge, and was the son of the late George L. and Grace E. (Reamer) Kurn Sr.
George lived most of his life in Natrona Heights and was a metallurgist and worked for 12 years at Penn United Technologies in Saxonburg and 32 years at the former Liberty Mirror in Brackenridge and Numec in Apollo.
He was a member of Center United Methodist Church in Fawn Township.
George graduated in 1960 from Har-Brack High School and earned an associate degree from Penn State New Kensington.
George enjoyed hiking, music, his camp in Marienville and was chairman emeritus for Friends of Harrison Hills Park.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Sandra R. (Triveri) Kurn; his daughters, Jennifer K. (Robert) Capellman of Cranberry Township, and Julie R. (Joseph) Beene of Crescent Township; his grandchildren, Grace Capellman and Lyla and Brennan Beene; and his sister, Dolores G. Petrulo of Natrona Heights.
KURN — Visitation for George L. Kurn Jr., who died Thursday, March 1, 2018, will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday in Duster Funeral Home, 347 E. 10th Ave., Tarentum, where services will be at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. C.
