Slippery Rock University homecoming fills streets

‘A very vintage homecoming’

Homecoming festivities at Slippery Rock University brought hundreds of people to the campus for a parade, football game and the crowning of the homecoming royalty over the weekend, Oct. 17 through 19.

The annual homecoming parade began at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the intersection of Main Street and Route 108 in Slippery Rock. It followed Main Street to Morrow Way and ended at the intersection of Morrow Way and Campus Drive.

The Rock football team rallied in the second half Saturday against Indiana University of Pennsylvania at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium, winning 30-27. The game featured the crowning of the homecoming royalty at halftime and special on-field recognition ceremonies.
