Learlene Basham
Learlene Basham, 85, of Butler passed away at 11:15 a.m. Thursday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born July 18, 1927, in Kayford, W. Va., to the late Dennis Lee Palmer and Jessie Garrett.
Mrs. Basham was a homemaker. She was a Presbyterian.
Mrs. Basham was a volunteer in the ladies auxiliary at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Basham is survived by one son, J. Kevin Basham and his wife, Faye, of Butler; two daughters, Karen Ann Basham of Cincinnati, Ohio, and K. Denise Wright and her husband, John, of San Diego, Calif.; five grandsons, BJ Basham, Justin Basham and his wife, Brittany, Joshua Basham and Brett and Mark Wright; three sisters, Mrs. Jean Cardew of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Jewell Payne of Charleston, W. Va., and Mrs. Sue Wilkinson and her husband, Dave, of Charleston, W.Va., and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew J. Basham Jr., who she married on Sept. 10, 1947, and who passed away on Nov. 5, 1996, and a brother, Dennis Palmer of Georgia.
Basham — Friends of Learlene Basham who passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013, will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Matthew Kail of the Unionville and Muddycreek United Presbyterian churches officiating. Burial will take place in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.
