Ethel Mae Daly, 76, of Old Pittsburgh Road, Ellwood City, Wayne Township, passed away peacefully Wednesday at Ellwood City Hospital with her family by her side.

Born March 30, 1935, in Millerstown, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Agnes A. (Poston) Christy Sr.

Ethel worked for the U.S. Postal Service and was a proud and active member of the American Postal Workers Union. She retired from the Pittsburgh Bulk Mail Center in Warrendale on April 1, 2000.

Mrs. Daly was affiliated with Millerstown United Methodist Church. She loved genealogy, reading, bowling, attending Pirate games, watching football, riding merry-go-rounds, knitting, gardening, sunbathing, traveling, helping people, and most of all playing with her great- grandchildren. She loved life.

Ethel was the beloved wife of 58 years to Joseph F. Daly Sr.; the beloved mother to a daughter, Gloria Mae (Daly) Wolfe of Zelienople, and to a son, Joseph F. Daly Jr. of Franklin; and the loving grandmother to two beautiful granddaughters, Shana D. Glover of Zelienople and Melinee O. Dominguez of North Carolina. Ethel will be missed deeply by her three great- grandchildren, Owen A. Glover and Francesca and Katlyn Dominguez.

She also is survived by two brothers, Elmer Christy of Fawn Township and Charles Christy of California; many nieces and nephews, who she loved dearly; and a very good friend of the family, Janet Wigton of Ellwood City, who Ethel kept very close to her heart.

She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Timothy E. Daly; and two brothers, Merle J. Christy and William E. Christy Jr.

<B>DALY</B> — Friends of Ethel Mae Daly, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at <B>Marshall Funeral Home</B>, 200 Fountain Ave., Ellwood City.Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Richard C. Nero officiating. A private family burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.Online condolences may be sent to marshallsfh.com.
