2 deer rescued from well
SPRINGVILLE — Game commission officials say two 8-point bucks were rescued after falling down an abandoned well in northeastern Pennsylvania.
The state commission says a hunter in Susquehanna County spotted the animals Tuesday afternoon in a 7-foot-deep well in Springville Township. Conservation officer Richard Briggs helped disassemble portions of the well from the top down. Then, he said, he and other workers looped a rope around the antlers of the deer one by one and pulled the animals to safety.
