Boyers couple facing child endangerment charges

A Boyers couple was charged Friday, Oct. 3, with child endangerment after police say they mistreated and neglected three children at a Marion Township residence.

Anthony Michael White, 37, and Sara Katherine Jones, 35, were arrested by Harrisville Borough Police Department after the three children told a Children & Youth Services caseworker about physical abuse, inappropriate comments and access to marijuana, according to court documents.

Both are charged with three felony counts of endangering welfare of children and three felony counts of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver.

According to interviews conducted by a Child & Youth Services caseworker at the Butler Child Advocacy Center, White would yell at, hit and physically punish the three children at the residence, which included making them kneel in the corner for several hours — sometimes in animal feces.

One child was provided with a marijuana pen on multiple occasions, as well as a marijuana-laced sweet, according to the affidavit.

Another child with a physical disability was neglected and reported not feeling safe at the residence, the affidavit said.

Further, White would lock the pantry so the children could not eat any food and would make inappropriate comments around the children, the affidavit said.

White and Jones are awaiting a preliminary hearing in front of District Judge Lewis Stoughton.
