Butler man suspected of vandalizing police station
A Butler man was arrested for writing obscene language on the front door of the Butler city police station early Friday, police said.
Thomas John Nagy, 33, was arrested after police suspecting him of writing graffiti on the door around 2 a.m. Oct. 3.
According to the affidavit, police saw an individual on camera who appeared to be angry and yelling. After he left, phrases appearing on the front door included profanity and other phrases, such as “Rape,” “CCV” and “Voice.”
Later in the morning, police saw Nagy, who matched the description of the suspect. The affidavit said Nagy told the officer it was his “freedom of speech.” Nagy was taken into custody.
A judge had not yet signed off on the charges as of Friday night.
