Slippery Rock mayor appointed to Western Region U.S. Service Academy Nominations Advisory Board
Slippery Rock Mayor Jondavid Longo announced he was recently appointed to the Western Region U.S. Service Academy Nominations Advisory Board by U.S. Sen. Dave McCormick, R-Pa.
“I am honored to have been selected by Sen. McCormick for this important advisory position,” Longo said in a release. “Having served my country in uniform, I understand the profound impact that our service academies have on shaping the next generation of leaders of the world’s finest fighting force. I look forward to contributing to this process and helping identify young Pennsylvanians who embody the values of honor, courage and commitment.”
His role will involve evaluating applications, conducting interviews and recommending candidates from Pennsylvania for nominations to top service academies, including the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
