Conner Barth, North Carolina, kicked a 42-yard field goal on the final play to lift the Tar Heels to a 31-28 victory over fourth-ranked Miami.

Braylon Edwards and Michael Hart, Michigan. Edwards caught two touchdown passes to help the Wolverines erase a 17-point, fourth-quarter deficit in just 5:44, and grabbed a third TD in triple overtime in a 45-37 win over Michigan State. Edwards caught 11 passes for 189 yards - breaking Anthony Carter's school record for career yards receiving. Hart ran for 224 yards - his third straight 200-yard game - and a TD.

Joel Statham, Maryland, threw for 333 yards and ran for a score to help the Terrapins beat fifth-ranked Florida State 20-17.

Adrian Peterson, Oklahoma, rushed for 249 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown run, in the Sooners' 38-35 victory over Oklahoma State.

Cory Ross, Nebraska, ran for a career-high 194 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Cornhuskers to a 24-3 victory over Missouri.

Joshua Cribbs, Kent State, ran for 223 yards and two touchdowns and passed for 150 yards and another score in a 42-16 win over Ohio.

Jamario Thomas, North Texas, had his NCAA freshman record-tying fourth 200-yard rushing game with 218 and set the NCAA record for most yards by a freshman in his first seven games with 1,215 as the Mean Green beat Louisiana-Monroe 45-30.

Garrett Wolfe, Northern Illinois, ran for 280 yards and three touchdowns, scoring the winner on a 9-yard run in overtime in a 38-31 victory over Ball State.

Shawn Bell, Baylor, threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Dominique Ziegler and they connected again for the winning 2-point conversion in the Bears' 35-34 overtime victory over No. 16 Texas A&M.

Jerious Norwood, Mississippi State, ran for 165 yards, his third straight 100-yard rushing performance, for the Bulldogs in a 22-7 win over Kentucky.

Rudy Arcara, Iona, ran for 313 yards and two touchdowns to help the Gaels edge La Salle 42-35.

Dustin Long, Sam Houston State, threw for 361 yards and four touchdowns in a 31-28 win over Stephen F. Austin.

Maryland beat fifth-ranked Florida State 20-17, the Terrapins' first victory against the Seminoles.

RARE OCCURRENCE

Disappointed football fans had plenty of company in the Sunshine State on Saturday, with Florida, Florida State and Miami losing on the same day for the first time in more than 26 years.

AIRING IT OUT

Dana College's Tom Lensch set an all-division college record by attempting 101 passes in a 60-35 loss to Hastings College on Saturday. Lensch completed 56 passes for a school-record 507 yards. He threw for three touchdowns and was intercepted three times. Dana ran the ball nine times.

BLANKED

UCLA posted its first Pac-10 shutout in 17 years with a 21-0 victory over Stanford. ... Seventh-ranked California beat No. 20 Arizona St. 27-0 for back-to-back shutouts, having downed Arizona 38-0 last week. ... Middle Tennessee State blanked Utah State 21-0, the first time the Aggies had been shut out since 1999.

MILESTONES

Texas' Vince Young became the 10th player to surpass 5,000 yards rushing with 141 yards in a 31-7 victory over Colorado. ... Georgia's David Greene tied Eric Zeier's school record with 67 touchdown passes and matched Peyton Manning for the most victories by a starting quarterback in NCAA Division I-A history at 39.

STRONG IN DEFEAT

Miami's Brock Berlin was 20-for-35 for 338 yards and two touchdowns in a 31-28 loss to North Carolina.
