The Rotary Butler Cultural District is hoping to bring McKean Street to life with music, performances, food and more.

“A Taste of McKean” will take over a section of the street, the Butler Public Library and the Maridon Museum from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, and leads up to the 7 p.m. “Dueling Pianos” show at the Penn Theater and the 7:30 p.m. show “Vino Veritas” at the Butler Little Theatre.

During the event, the Butler Public Library will feature a “book tasting,” a wood turning demonstration by Ken Hertzog and live performances by Hobnob Theatre in the courtyard.

At the Maridon Museum, visitors will get to enjoy Asian art alongside show tunes by members of the Butler Musical Theatre Guild and a pottery demonstration by Steven Harding.

Visitors can walk McKean Street to see the residents’ fall and Halloween themed porches and listen to a performance by the Kleeman Brothers Band.

A wristband for those who want appetizers and beverages will be available at the library and museum. It can be either purchased for $10 or be received by showing their digital tickets for “Dueling Pianos,” “Vino Veritas,” the Musical Theatre Guild’s “Tick, Tick, Boom” or Hobnob Theatre’s “Tales of the Grotesque.”
