Roma Jean McKibbin

Roma Jean McKibbin

Roma Jean McKibbin of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Mars, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Aug. 12 in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born May 21, 1931, Roma is now reunited with her beloved husband, Wib McKibbin, who she shared a wonderful and blessed marriage of over 60 years.

Roma devoted her life to her family and loved them all deeply. The last words she spoke were “I love my family.”

She worked tirelessly to create a loving and nurturing home for her husband and children. She never worked outside of her home until the last of her three children was grown.

She then worked at Pima Community College, until her husband retired and together they decided they wanted to travel. They spent many summers back in Western Pennsylvania, where they were originally from, visiting with family and childhood friends.

Roma's Christian faith was strong and she was dedicated to her church and church family. She was very active in almost every church function and took on a variety of roles over the years. Her husband would tease her, “if the church door was open Roma was there.”

Roma is predeceased by her husband, Wib McKibbin; her parents, Walter and Rena Hamilton; her sister, Mona Mae Hamilton; and her brother, Dr. Dale Hamilton.

She is survived by her children, Mona (Tom) Stefanski, Jean Poston and Paul (Patches) McKibbin; her grandchildren, Kristin (Ryan) Vroom, Kyle Koski, Sara Stefanski and Gus and Alli McKibbin; and her great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Macy Vroom with a third little Vroom due in September.

Roma enjoyed a full and happy life and will be greatly missed and dearly remembered by her loving family and many friends.
