Beulah G. Kerestes
Beulah Grace Kerestes, 98, of Lincolnton, N.C., formerly of Carbon Street, Butler, died at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday in the Levine Dixon Hospice in Huntersville, N.C.
Born Feb. 4, 1912, in Reynoldsville, she was the daughter of the late Albert E. Wayland and Mary Mae (Hadden) Wayland.
Mrs. Kerestes was a homemaker. She had also been employed at Sylvania Electric Products.
Mrs. Kerestes has been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1946. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, sewing, knitting and doing other handiwork.
Mrs. Kerestes is survived by five daughters, Janet and her husband, William, of Alvey of Lincolnton, N.C., with whom she made her home since October, Judy Warhola and her husband, William, of Westminster, Colo., Linda Varos and her husband, Joseph, of Sarasota, Fla., Avanell Mock and her husband, Lee, of Drexel Hill, and Mary Ellen Thomas and her husband, William, of Pembroke, Va.; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Edna Jones of DuBois, Mary Ruth Larimer of Luthersburg, Helen Heist of Stuart, Fla., and Catherine Ament of Natrona Heights; and also a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Kerestes was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Yonker, who passed away in 1935; and by her second husband, John D. Kerestes, who she married in 1943 and who passed away Oct. 15, 1968.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Charles Yonker; a sister, Velma Broker; and a brother, Robert Wayland.
<B>KERESTES</B> — Friends of Beulah Grace Kerestes, who died Tuesday, June 22, 2010, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Thomas M. Pierotti and Vicar Scott Schul of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Butler, PA 16001.
