Beaver County teen shot, killed by officers
Kendrick Curtis Jr., an 18-year-old resident of Aliquippa, was shot and killed by authorities in an operation Thursday evening, Sept. 18.
According to state police, officers from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, FBI and the Beaver County Municipal Police Task Force were conducting a joint operation in the area of Waugaman and Tyler streets around 6:20 p.m.
Police said officers attempted to contact Curtis, who fled while discharging a firearm toward them. An officer returned gunfire and struck Curtis.
Curtis was flown to Allegheny General Hospital where he later died, police said. No officers were injured.
State police said the investigation is ongoing and there is no threat to the public as the incident is contained.
