Edward Stark

Edward E. Stark Sr., 65, of Butler passed away Thursday in the comfort of his home, following a yearlong battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).

Born on Jan. 15, 1949, in Butler, he was a son of the late Edward R. Stark and Elizabeth Jean (Skillman) Stark.

He worked in maintenance for the Butler County Community College for 23 years, until retirement in June 2013.

He was a member of the St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church in Butler. He loved to fish and also enjoyed mowing the grass.

Surviving are his wife, Dolores M. (Young) Stark, who he married on Aug. 21, 1971; his three children, Heather A. (Bill) Fulton of Murrysville, Amy (Scott) Richardson of Butler and Edward E. (Anne) Stark Jr. of West Sunbury; his six grandchildren, Jacob, Toryn and Nathan Fulton, Tanner and Brooke Richardson and Gabrielle Stark; his sister, Kathy (Rick) Sarver of Butler; his loyal companion, Buddy; and his numerous nieces and nephews, along with many close and great friends.

Stark— The friends of Edward E. Stark Sr., who passed away Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at theGeibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, N. Main St. Ext., Butler, with the Rev.
