Herman J. Kraus

Herman J. Kraus, 88, of Marion Township diedFriday at the Medical Center in Beaver.

Born July 15, 1918, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Louis and Frances Kellner Kraus.

He was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church, Zelienople, where he belonged to the Knights of Columbus and served as an usher.

He was a life-long dairy farmer, and served as a Marion Township supervisor for 36 years.

Mr. Kraus also was a member of the Elks in McKees Rocks, and a member of the Farm Credit Board for more than 30 years.

He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Surviving are a son, Ronald (Cathy)Kraus of Economy; two daughters, Bonnie (Dan) Murtha of Iowa, and Marilyn (Tom) Zona of New Brighton; a cousin, Joseph (Alice) Kellner, who was like a son to him; three sisters, Marie Shaughnessy of New York, Grace Cain of Hopewell Township, and Betty Jaworski of Florida; 10 grandchildren, Mark, Amy, Todd, Jeniffer, Tim, Derek, Brenda, Valerie, Rebecca, and R.J.; and six great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Mildred "Judy"Kraus, who died Nov. 14, 1990; a daughter-in-law, Karen Kraus; three brothers, Louis, Joseph, and Matthew Kraus; and two sisters, Frances Kraus and Margaret Spencer.

<B>Kraus</B> — Friends of Herman J. Kraus, who died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St.Gregory Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople, with the Rev. Robert M. Miller, his church pastor, officiating.Burial will be in the St. Gregory Cemetery, Zelienople.Memorial donations may be made to Elks National Foundation, 2750 N.
