Stephanie Davis

Stephanie “Stevie” Brodrick Davis, 72, died May 4 in her home in Sandestin, Fla., of natural causes.

She was the cherished mother of Scott Davis, Doug Davis, Susan Davis and David Davis; the treasured sister of Sandra Jones; and the loving grandmother of Marley, Jessica and Hardy.

Stephanie was born in East Brady to Kenneth and Ethel Brodrick, and she lived in East Brady until she started college. She attended Grove City College and later graduated in 1970 from Clarion State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. In 1996, she received a Master of Education degree from the University of Florida.

She used her education to first serve as an elementary school teacher and later as a therapist, advocate and counselor for special needs clients and victims of domestic violence.

In addition to being a dedicated educator and supporter of the needy, Stephanie developed many avocations. Her Christian faith and church were priorities, and she served God and fellow worshippers as a soprano soloist and choir member for many years, in addition to assisting the less fortunate in her church. Her passions included crossword puzzles, traveling, watching Dancing with the Stars with her friend Sharon and anything that her children and grandchildren were pursuing.

DAVIS — A memorial service for Stephanie “Stevie” Brodrick Davis, who died Monday, May 4, 2015, will be at 11 a.m. June 6 at the Good News United Methodist Church, 4747 U.S. Highway 98 W., Santa Road Beach, Fla.Flowers are being accepted at the church, or in lieu of flowers, Stephanie's family welcomes charitable contributions in her memory to the Good News United Methodist Church.Immediately following the service, a reception will be at The Beach Club of Sandestin.The Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home, Freeport, Fla.,is entrusted with the arrangements.
