Harry Moreland

Harry C. Moreland III, 64, of Indiana, Pa., died Saturday at Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born in 1948 in Oil City to Harry C. Moreland Jr. and Helen Keating Moreland.

Harry was a member of the BPOE Lodge 931, Indiana, Pa., the Red Barn Sportsman Club, and he attended the Zion Lutheran Church.

A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Army.

He was employed as a welder for EME at the Homer City Power Plant for 41 years before retirement in 2012.

Harry enjoyed hunting, woodworking, spending time with family and friends, vacationing at the beach, and he was a huge Steelers fan.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy (Cooke) Moreland; his daughter, Kelly Evans and her husband, Jonathan, of Hillsborough, N.J.; two sons, Stephen Moreland and his wife, Lisa, of Southlake, Texas, and Craig Moreland and wife, Nicole, of Gibsonia; stepchildren, Jody Riddle and her husband, Rich, Christopher and Dave Johnston, all of Indiana, Pa.; nine grandchildren, Alexander, Rachelle and Nathan Evans of Hillsborough, N.J.; Madison and Mia Moreland of Southlake, Texas; Megan, Richie and Jordan Riddle and Walker Johnston, all of Indiana, Pa.; two sisters, Dorothy Bohrer of Prospect and Carol Solomon of Lower Burrell; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, and two brothers-in-law, Jim Bohrer and Bill Solomon.

MORELAND — Friends of Harry C. Moreland III, who died Saturday, June 8, 2013, will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, Pa. An additional viewing will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 p.m. Tuesday at the Zion Lutheran Church, Indiana, Pa., with the Rev. Julie Walz officiating.
