Tomlinson a Fantasy player's dream
PHILADELPHIA — LaDainian Tomlinson's talents running and receiving the ball made him the consensus No. 1 pick in fantasy leagues this year.
But now he's giving owners a special treat. Tomlinson has thrown two touchdowns on the halfback option. That's one more TD pass than Kurt Warner, by the way.
"(Offensive coordinator Cam Cameron) likes to try things like that," said Tomlinson, who will play his first game against the Eagles this Sunday. "And so for a while, I've been practicing on throwing the football, but I've always had a pretty good arm. So this worked perfect."
But it's his traditional skills that have many LT owners sitting pretty. Tomlinson has rushed for more yards than any other running back since coming into the league in 2001.
In 2003, he became the only player to rush for 1,000 yards and catch 100 passes. With a score on Sunday, he will break Lenny Moore's 40-year-old record with a touchdown in his 19th consecutive game.
"First of all, he has great vision," explained Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson. "He sees the hole and knows when to cut back or take the ball to the outside and is dangerous out there. He has excellent quickness and is one of those natural running backs like Emmitt Smith or Barry Sanders. He's one of the best you will ever see."

Rams quarterback Jaime Martin: You have to chalk up some of his lousy second half on Monday to the Colts' improved defense. With St. Louis at home the next two weeks (vs. New Orleans and Jacksonville), Martin's a decent option for those who are desperate (i.e. Daunte Culpepper owners).Falcons running back Warrick Dunn: If you are on the fence about playing Dunn this week against the Jets, get off. Not only is New York 27th against the run, but Atlanta activating rookie DeAndra Cobb off the practice squad indicates T.J. Duckett's ankle injury could be more problematic than first thought.Titans quarterback Billy Volek: He's still just a backup, but keep an eye on Steve McNair's nagging back. If he goes down, Volek's worth a pickup.
Raiders wide receiver Randy Moss: If Moss doesn't play, Oakland will look to Doug Gabriel and Alvis Whitted. Can't recommend either of those guys against Buffalo's top-ranked pass defense.Titans wide receiver Drew Bennett: Bennett owners can only hope he returns from thumb surgery after the bye and before Tennessee has a run of Jacksonville, San Francisco and Houston within four weeks. Brandon Jones becomes Tennessee's top option with Tyrone Calico possibly leaving the witness protection program to catch a pass or two.Ravens at Bears: Anthony Wright vs. Kyle Orton. Yuck. First team to 10 points wins.
