NEW CASTLE — A Western Pennsylvania man has been jailed on charges he fatally stabbed his wife after police say he acknowledged killing the woman after she first stabbed him.

New Castle police say they found 38-year-old Shawn Thomas Moore sitting on his front porch steps wearing bloody clothes with a cut on his hand when they arrived at a call reporting a domestic dispute about 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say they found 36-year-old Alisha Moore dead of multiple stab wounds inside the house.

Online court records don't list an attorney for Shawn Moore, who remained in the Lawrence County Jail without bond on charges of criminal homicide, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.

New Castle is about 45 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.

PITTSBURGH — Discount carrier Megabus is moving its Pittsburgh stop from the David L. Lawrence Convention Center to a busy intersection downtown that is closer to other transit services and restaurants. The city-county Sports & Exhibition Authority earlier this month raised concerns about littering and too many passengers running inside to use rest rooms at the convention center, which the authority operates. Megabus uses curbside stops to save money instead of building its own terminals, and liked the convention center stop because it was covered from the weather and well-lit.A spokeswoman for the mayor’s office says the new stop near the Gateway Center light-rail station will be even more convenient than the convention center stop.Megabus will begin using the new stop July 2.
