Police: Man punches bride at Connoquenessing Township wedding
A Sharpsville man is facing charges after allegedly punching a bride at a weekend wedding in Connoquenessing Township.
John Joseph Cianci, 26, was charged Tuesday, Sept. 2, with four misdemeanor counts each of simple assault and disorderly conduct following the Aug. 29 incident.
Police said Cianci was a guest for a wedding at The Woods at Eisler Farms. Police said he became angry and violent after he was refused continued alcohol service and punched the bride in the left side of her face with a “round house” style punch, knocking her to the ground.
Three men attempted to subdue Cianci after the incident. Police said the three men were punched in the face, the right eye and the forehead respectively.
Cianci’s preliminary hearing is scheduled at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, before District Judge Amy Marcinkiewicz. He’s being held in Butler County Prison on a $5,000 bail.
