SRU women get PSAC victory

The Slippery Rock University women’s basketball team outscored Seton Hill 10-5 in overtime to come away from Morrow Field House with a 75-70 victory Wednesday night.

D’Asia Chambers and Erica Aiello both posted double-doubles of 25 points/11 rebounds and 10 points/11 assists, respectively.

The Rock trailed by 10 points at halftime, but outscored the Griffins 35-25 in the second half to even the score at 65.

Aidan Geise added 13 points for SRU (4-13, 1-6), which earned its first PSAC West victory of the season.

Men’s BasketballSenior center Maurice Lewis-Briggs made two free throws with 25 seconds left in the game, lifting SRU to a 72-71 win over Seton Hill.Lewis-Briggs ended the night with a team-high 18 points and nine rebounds.The Rock (15-4, 6-1) also received double-digit scoring efforts from Matej Delinac (13), Josh Martin (13) and Tabari Perry (10).SRU survived despite allowing the Griffins’ Kameron Taylor to score a game-high 29 points.The Rock contines to lead the PSAC Western Division and travels to Indiana (Pa.) for a key conference game Saturday night.CCBC 99, Butler County Community College 61 — Mike Rummell scored 16 points for the Pioneers (1-15, 0-5) while Tyler Copeland added 12. Cody West had 11 points and eight assists.
