Vavro

Martha A. Vavro, 94, of Butler, passed away Saturday, Jan, 15, 2022, at Whispering Fields Retirement and Assisted Living in Chicora.

Born July 23, 1927, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary Fetzko Blasko.

She was a member of All Saints Parish, Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

Martha was employed for many years as a secretary at Franklin Glass Company. She also worked at Sunnyview Nursing Home, and as a teacher’s aide at St. Michael School.

She is survived by two sons, David G. Vavro of Butler, and Lawrence M. Vavro of Butler; one daughter, Jeanne Starmack and her husband, Theodore, of New Castle; one sister, Eleanor Olmsted and her husband, Bob, of North Carolina; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Theadore A. “Timer” Vavro Sr., who passed away Sept. 10, 2004; one son, Theadore A. “Ted” Vavro Jr.; and one daughter-in-law, Marian Vavro.

VAVRO — Friends of Martha A. Vavro, who died Saturday, Jan, 15, 2022, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022, at the MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 429 Center Ave., Butler.

A blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kevin C. Fazio officiating.

Burial will take place in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
