Through August and September, books from Patt Saeler’s collection of antique books are featured in an exhibit, “Pages of the Past,” at the Butler Area Public Library.

The exhibit includes a sample of the diverse pieces in Saeler’s larger collection.

Visitors to the exhibit will find early readers, such as “Dick and Jane,” which is from a time when Saeler herself learned to read. Other books in the exhibit include a book about the United States from a time when there were only 48 states and a book on space travel from 1959.

A retired educator, Saeler has spent nearly 50 years teaching children in various settings, including teaching second grade at Butler Area School District for years.

The exhibit of Saeler’s books will be on display in the second-floor showcases at the Butler Area Public Library, 218 N. McKean St., Butler, until the end of September.
