Environmental educator presenting at Audubon Society meeting

Fran Bires will present a program at the Bartramian Audubon Society’s meeting on Sept. 8, which will also be the group’s annual meeting for the year.

Bires worked in the environmental education field for his entire professional career – first at Raccoon Creek and McConnells Mill state parks, then the McKeever Environmental Learning Center. Since his retirement, Bires spends a great deal of time photographing wildlife throughout Pennsylvania and in national parks, said a news release from the society.

His presentation is a display of the photographs he has taken over the years which include birds of prey, waterfowl, water birds and songbirds.

The society’s membership meetings take place at 7 p.m. the second Monday of the month at Jennings Environmental Education Center, 2961 Prospect Road, Brady Township. The meetings are free and open to the public.
