Coherent extends partnership with Apple
Saxonburg-based manufacturer Coherent, has extended its multiyear partnership with Apple.
Under the new agreement, Coherent will continue to produce vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers that enable features such as Face ID on iPhone and iPad devices around the world.
The work through this partnership will be carried out at Coherent’s manufacturing facility in Sherman, Texas.
Coherent CEO Jim Anderson said during the company’s fourth quarter and fiscal year earnings call the company expects revenue from this expanded partnership with Apple to begin in 2026.
Anderson also said during the earnings call that this partnership is an expanded one compared to the company’s previous partnership agreement, which will help bring in “a new generation of lasers.”
