Center Township youth baseball team wins home tournament
The Center Township 10U red team won its recent home tournament, capping its season with a 16-2 mark.
Center Township was the No. 1 seed at the event, but was down 8-1 to South Fayette after four innings in the championship matchup. Center Township plated four runs in the following two frames, winning via walk-off.
Brady Wilkinson hit a two-out single to left field in the sixth, scoring Cash Morrow and Blake MacDonald to win the game. Morrow and MacDonald reached base on back-to-back singles. Colt Harris’ two-run homer made it 8-7 earlier in the half inning.
Braxton Myrlie pitched scoreless fifth and sixth innings for Center Township. It was the team’s fourth tournament title of the campaign.
Other players on the roster were Carter Johnson, Collin Kiddle, Dean Aufman, Kingston Walton and Maddox Cordray.
