Mildred Kuhns

Mildred Louise (Mayers) Shaw Kuhns, 92, of Harrison City, Pa., died Saturday in Forbes Hospital, Monroeville.

She was born Feb. 16, 1923, in Windber, a daughter of the late Paul and Ann (Christoff) Mayers.

She was a member of the St. Barbara Church in Harrison City, and she attended the Immaculate Conception Church in Irwin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Shaw; her second husband, Duane E. Kuhns; one son, David P. Shaw; brothers, Paul G., Joseph and Thomas Mayers; one sister, Dorothy Shrift; and one daughter-in-law, Bonnie Shaw.

Surviving are three sons, William A. Shaw of Ohio, Michael E. Shaw and his wife, Mary Ann, of North Huntingdon, and Joseph P. Shaw and his wife, Dana, of Hampton Bay, N.Y.; daughter-in-law, Marlene Haas of Florida; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

KUHNS — Friends of Mildred Louise (Mayers) Shaw Kuhns, who died Saturday, April 18, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Ott Funeral Home, 805 Pennsylvania Ave., Irwin.Parting prayers will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church.
