Community Day at Eau Claire Park scheduled Aug. 23
Eau Claire Park will host a community day for the borough’s residents at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, offering attendees an evening of games, food and music before concluding the night with fireworks.
Proceeds from a basket raffle will go toward Eau Claire Volunteer Fire Department.
A car cruise will take up most of the evening, with food at concession stands, as well as music from a DJ leading up to dusk. Children also can enjoy the event with games, bouncy houses and other activities. The fireworks will be presented by Kellner's Fireworks Inc.
Jennifer Rottman, secretary of Eau Claire borough, said the community day was a tradition for many years until it fizzled out. Since it’s return, this will mark the third one in the borough.
“It’s just a time to have the community come together and enjoy the day,” Rottman said.
Rottman said the event is a way for borough council to bring more activities to the small community that appeal to all age ranges.
“We try to make it family-oriented,” Rottman said. “In the years past, it’s been a very big success and we just want to keep that going.”
