Bruin Community Days welcomes residents with car show, children’s activities
BRUIN — Bruin Community Days kicked off at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, with activities at Bruin Volunteer Fire Department Station 29 and Bruin Borough Community Park.
Classic cars lined the parking lot at Station 29 primarily to show off their style and engines, but with a couple of for sale signs for people looking to purchase a classic car.
Some of the cars also had binders of old photos showing how the owners rebuilt parts of the cars that carried them through the years.
Station 29 also hosted sign-ups for a painting class where students could paint a decoration to be hung on doors or elsewhere in a home. Some finished pieces and other decorations were raffled with tickets starting at $3. Refreshments also were available for purchase.
The Bruin Borough Community Park hosted inflatable children’s activities, local vendors with booths showing off their work and other refreshments. Festivities continued into the evening and resumed Sunday.
