Police: Butler man crashes into trailer while DUI
A Butler man was charged after crashing his vehicle while allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.
Michael Glenn Whitling, 36, was charged Tuesday, Aug. 12, with felony DUI following a two-vehicle crash June 14 at the intersection of Bonniebrook and Herman roads.
Police said they arrived at the scene and found Whitling’s vehicle, a Chevrolet Sedan, about 100 yards from the crash with disabling damage. Police said there was evidence Whitling did not stop at a stop sign before hitting the other vehicle.
Police said Whitling entered the intersection at high speeds and struck the other vehicle’s trailer as it proceeded through the intersection traveling north on Bonniebrook Road.
Whitling reportedly told police the other vehicle struck him. Police said Whitling showed signs of impairment in the back of the ambulance but refused a blood test.
Whitling’s preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
