William L. Miller

William Lawrence "bill" miller, 75, of spring street, Petrolia, died at 7:55 p.m. Wednesday at the Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Sligo, after a long illness.

Born in Fairview, May 18, 1932, he was a son of Lawrence and Esther O. Cumberland Miller.

He was a member of the Petrolia Presbyterian Church and a life member of the Petrolia Volunteer Fire Department.

Mr. Miller had attended the Karns city schools and retired April 15, 1994, from boiler house maintenance at Witco in Petrolia after 38 years.

Surviving are his wife, the former Betty I. Jordan, whom he married Sept. 4, 1954, in Petrolia; a daughter, Robin k. McGinnis of Petrolia; a son, Kevin W. Miller and his wife, Jamie, of Chicora; six grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

He also is survived by a brother, Thomas Miller and his wife, Louise, of Emlenton; four sisters, Esther T. Hemmerling and her husband, Michael, of Eau Claire, Gloria Sweeney and her husband, George, of Petrolia, Diane king of parker and Mary Hesky of butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Raymond McGinnis, who died Nov. 9, 2001; a brother, John Miller; and two sisters, Margaret Stewart and Nancy wright.

<B>MILLER</B> — Friends of William Lawrence "bill" miller, who died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Richard d. Hillis funeral home</B>, 102 Argyle St., Petrolia. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Rowe, a retired presbyterian pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at the bear creek cemetery, Petrolia.
