Slippery Rock football voted No. 1 spot in PSAC West Division preseason coaches poll
Coaches are not sleeping on Slippery Rock this season.
The PSAC unveiled its preseason coaches poll Thursday, and the conference voted The Rock the No. 1 team in the PSAC West Division. SRU earned four first-place votes, one more than second-place IUP. Both are ahead of No. 3 California (Pa.), the defending division champion.
Two-time defending conference champion Kutztown was voted No. 1 for the second straight year with seven first-place votes in the East Division.
The football season begins Sept. 5-6. SRU visits Franklin Pierce (N.H.) that Friday in the opener.
