Robert G. Pender

Robert G. Pender, 73, of Mars passed away Wednesday morning in the comfort of his home with his family by his side.

Born in Pittsburgh, April 14, 1944, he was the son of the late John and Florence Langsdale Pender.

Bob worked for the U.S. Postal Service at the Pittsburgh Bulk Mail Center and was a mail carrier in Leetsdale for eight years.

He was a member of St. Kilian Church, where he had been an usher and participated in the Bible study. He was also a board member of the Greater Pittsburgh Civil War Roundtable.

Bob had also served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam War.

Surviving are his wife, Marjorie E. Brindle Pender, whom he married on Aug. 19, 1967; a son, Robert M. (Vicky) Pender of Jefferson Township; a daughter, Kathleen A. Barcus of Ellwood City; his grandchildren, Dylan M. Barcus and Morgan and Ethan Pender; and two brothers, Gerald (Celeste) Pender of Portersville, and John (Charlotte “Becky”) Pender of Ashland, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Mroz.

PENDER — Friends of Robert G. Pender, who died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Kilian Church, 7076 Franklin Road, Cranberry Township with the Rev.
