Fire confined to bedroom at Butler Township home
No injuries were reported after fire crews responded to a second-story house fire Friday morning, Aug. 1, in the 300 block of Kohler Avenue in Butler Township.
Three residents secured their pets and fled the home as emergency crews arrived, according to Scott Frederick, the township’s emergency services director. He said the damage was confined to one upstairs bedroom.
The cause of the fire is undetermined, he said.
Crews were dispatched at 8:55 a.m. and later requested a ladder to reach the second-story fire. A second alarm was also called to dispatch VA Butler Fire and Emergency Services, but was later canceled.
Butler Ambulance Service also responded, but with no patients to transport, they instead brought coolers of water for the firefighters.
Crews remained at the property for about an hour assessing the damage. Butler Township Volunteer Fire District, Butler Bureau of Fire, Butler Township police and Butler city police also responded.
