John P. Santa, 71, of Mars died Thursday morning at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born in Pittsburgh, on Feb. 1, 1941, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Sylvia Valenty Santa.

John was the head clerk for the Port Authority of Allegheny County. He was the co-owner of Twelve Oaks Mansion and Linda Santa Children’s Center in Adams Township. He also raised a herd of 70 Alpacas on his farm.

He was a member of the St. Kilian Catholic Church in Cranberry Township.

He was the beloved husband of Linda Melani Santa, who he married June 12, 1976; loving father of Julie D. Primrose and her husband, Chad, Bethany M. Santa and her fiancée, Tim Ley, Leigh K. Santa, Michael Santa and his wife, Leslie, and James and Andrew Santa, all of Mars; grandfather of Ethan, Hannah and Peyton Primrose and Logan Santa; and brother of Mary Masa and her husband, Joe, Robert Santa and his wife, Jeanne, and Joseph “Bud” Santa and his wife, Carol, all of Mars. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews.

SANTA — There will be no calling hours for John P. Santa, who died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012. Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian burial in the St. Kilian Catholic Church, corner of Clark and Cherry Streets, Mars, at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Father Charles Bober, pastor, will officiate.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 100 W. Station Square Drive, Landmarks Building, Suite 1900, Pittsburgh, PA 15219, or to the Building Fund of the St. Kilian Catholic Church, 7076 Franklin Road, Cranberry Township, PA 16066.
