Leonard Martin
Leonard J. Martin, 89, of Zelienople, passed away peacefully at home Monday, July 21, 2025.
Born July 30, 1935, in Mercer, he was the son of the late James and Grace Houston Martin.
Leonard proudly served in the U.S. Army. He coached girls’ softball in Cranberry Township for many years. He even helped build the softball fields so that the girls had a better place to play. Above all else, Leonard was a man who took care of his family. He was the backbone, never even needing to raise his voice in order to be listened to. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his children, Susan Torbett, Lisa (David) Bauman and Robert L. (Kim) Martin; his nine grandchildren; his 23 great-grandchildren; his one great-great-grandchild; his sisters, Evelyn Habel, Becky (Mike) McGuire and Jenny (Ed) Klink; and his sister-in-law, Sharyn (John) Kawecki.
In addition to his parents, Leonard was preceded in death by his loving wife and best friend, Sally A. Martin, on April 4, 2019; his son, Douglas Martin; and his brothers, Peter and Jim Martin.
