Moniteau again looking for grid coach
CHERRY TWP — Moniteau High School is looking for a head football coach again.
Jon McCune's resignation after one season was accepted Monday night at the Moniteau school board meeting. The Warriors were 3-6 in 2017.
Their next head coach will be the program's fifth in seven years.
“Jon took an assistant coaching position at SRU (Slippery Rock University),” Moniteau athletic director John Stoughton said. “He wanted to get back into college football.
“He did a nice job here and we wish him well.”
McCune is a 2012 SRU graduate and was a graduate assistant football coach there. He is rejoining the staff this year as a volunteer assistant coach and will join assistant coach Frank Bongivengo in working with the wide receivers. McCune will not be paid.
