Helen G. Dittmer Twentier 'Dittie'

Helen G. Dittmer Twentier “Dittie,” 84, of Butler, passed away Thursday. Helen spent her last weeks surrounded in love by her husband, children and family.

Helen was born on Sept. 12, 1929, in Butler, the daughter of the late Lee Charles and Mae Ellen Nyberg Dittmer.

Helen's pride and joy were her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She loved to spend all the time she could with them. She loved traveling to the casinos and playing cards or just meeting up with friends to pick their daily numbers.

She will be especially missed by her husband, Clyde H. Twentier, who she married in Butler in August of 1968.

Helen was a devoted mother to her children growing up and was a stay-at-home mom while raising them. She was a loving, kind and caring person, and she will be greatly missed by all.

Surviving are her children, Alfred H. Mueller Jr. and wife, Jill, of Mechanicsburg, Deborah L. Meckley of Cincinnati, Ohio, Diana L. Boring and husband, Edward, of Butler, Keith B. Mueller of Mechanicsburg and Pamela S. Speakman and husband, Robert, of Mechanicsburg; her granddaughters, Jennifer L. Kline of Harrisburg, Teresa A. Simms of McAllisterville, Krystal A. Boring of Butler, Kathryn H. Abraham of Pittsburgh, Paige A. Mueller of Mechanicsburg, Lauren A. Speakman of Mechanicsburg and Emily M. Speakman of Mechanicsburg. Also surviving are her grandsons, David A. Meckley of Vandergrift, Steven A. Meckley of Rochester, Pa., Todd A. Meckley of New Castle, Michael E. Mueller of Camp Hill; her 18 great-grandchildren; her brother, Carl Dittmer of Warren, Ohio; and her sister, Dixie Buzzard of Karns City.

She was preceded in death by her father, who died in 1947, and her mother, who died in June 2000, and her brother, Gary Z. Dittmer, who died in 2006.

Twentier— The friends of Helen G. Dittmer Twentier “Dittie,” who passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014, will be received at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.A blessing service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.Interment will be in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.More information at www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
