Charles Denniston

Denniston

Charles H. Denniston, 77, of Prospect, passed away Monday, July 14, 2025, at AHN West Penn Hospital.

Born in Portersville on April 8, 1948, Charles was the son of the late Howard and Mary Johnson Denniston.

He attended the Laurel School District and Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Charles retired from Ellwood City Forge after more than 25 years of dedicated service to the company.

He enjoyed both fishing and hunting. A talented artist and skilled woodworker, Charles handcrafted beautiful heirlooms family and friends will cherish. He even had his own personal sawmill.

Charles was very involved with his children and volunteered his time by serving as a Boy Scout leader, PFO president and band booster parent. He was the quintessential family man — hardworking, honest and loving. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Charles is survived by his wife of 56 years, the former Patricia Finch of Prospect; his son, Jeffrey Denniston of Prospect; his daughter and son-in-law, Tawnya and Andrew Perpich of Beaver Falls; his granddaughter, Julia Perpich; and four sisters, Margaret Nappi of DeLeon, Texas, Laura Basham of Grove City, Dorothy Duperault of Helotes, Texas, and Mary Mowry of Hammond, Ind.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Bernard Denniston; and a sister, Clara Nossek.

DENNISTON — Friends of Charles H. Denniston, who died Monday, July 14, 2025, will be received from 2 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 27, at JOSEPH A. TOMON JR. FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 97 Grim Ave., Ellport, Pa.
