Ida Miller
Ida Wonderly Miller, 104, passed away on Jan. 8, 2022, at Concordia in Sarver, where she had been a resident since Dec. 3, 2020.
Ida was born on June 21, 1917. She was the youngest child of George Simpson Wonderly and Bessie Crawford Wonderly.
On May 10, 1937, she married William A. "Dusty" Miller. He died on June 16, 1958.
Ida was a lifelong resident of Butler and lived on East Brady Street for over 90 years.
A proud 1935 graduate of Butler High School, she served on the reunion committee for many years.
She was a secretary for both the Butler County Credit Bureau and the former Masten Stock Exchange. She retired from Butler County Community College, where she served as the receptionist for the president and served as the switchboard operator. She was affectionately known as "the voice of BC3."
As the time of her passing, she was the oldest member of Hill United Presbyterian Church, where she had been a member for almost 90 years. During that time, she was a member of various choirs and taught Sunday school.
She is survived by her sons, William G. (Judith) Miller of Sarver and Marshall A. (Sharon) Heist Miller of Butler; her five grandchildren, William A. Miller, Richard (Kim) Miller, Nathan (Sarah) Miller, Aaron (Adriana) Miller and Christine Miller and her life partner, Frank Alexander; her stepgrandchildren, Robin (Jim) McVay and Noelle (Tuck) Sequite; and her five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Ian, Luke, Isabella and Oliver Miller.
She also had four stepgreat-grandchildren, Grant and Julia McVay, Reese and Tucker Sequite; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth, Floyd and Dale; her sister, Grace; and a stepgrandson, Glen Cobbett.
The family would like to thank all of those who touched Ida's life, her relatives, friends, neighbors, church family, the staff at Concordia and special friends Susan Rowles and Nancy Neel.
MILLER — A memorial service for Ida Wonderly Miller, who died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, will be held at a later date.
Burial will be private with the Rev. Leigh Benish of Hill United Presbyterian Church, officiating.
