Cathy J. Miller, 59, of Vogel Road died Wednesday at her home.

Born July 7, 1948, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Jay E. and Mary E. Thompson Cadwallader.

Mrs. Miller retired in 2005 as an English teacher at Butler Senior High School after 35 years.

She was a graduate of Butler High School and Slippery Rock University, where she received a bachelor's degree in English for secondary education, a bachelor's degree of reading for secondary education and a master's degree in education.

Mrs. Miller was a member of the Oak Hills Christian Church.

She loved quilting and traveling. She was a Cherry Tree volunteer and a member of First United Methodist Quilters, Pennsylvania State Education Association and Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees.

Surviving are her husband, David L. Miller, whom she married July 18, 1970; a son, Kyle Miller and his wife, April, of Butler; a daughter, Kristen Miller of Butler; a brother, Jay (Edward) Cadwallader Jr. of Pittsburgh; and four nephews, Jason and Joshua Miller, both of Butler, and Jay E. III and Benjamin Cadwallader, both of Pittsburgh.

She was preceded in death by a son K.C. (Kern) Miller.

<B>MILLER</B> — Friends of Cathy J. Miller, who died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Phillip Conyers Jr., her church pastor, officiating.
