Barry Stiehler
Barry W. Stiehler, 82, of Karns City, passed away peacefully in the company of his loving wife and family, Thursday evening, July 10, 2025, at Quality Life Services — Chicora.
Barry was born in Pittsburgh on Jan. 15, 1943. He was the son of the late John E. and Wanda C. Lokar Stiehler. He was a 1960 graduate of Fairview Township-Karns City High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Stiehler earned an associate degree in fire science from the Community College of Allegheny County.
He was employed at the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire and retired as a well respected captain following 34 years of distinguished service. Mr. Stiehler was a 32nd Degree Mason, and past Master of the former Crescent Masonic Lodge in Pittsburgh. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Fraternity and most recently belonged to Franklin St. John’s Trinity Masonic Lodge No. 221 F&AM in Pittsburgh.
He looked forward to playing the Pennsylvania Lottery daily number, was an avid fisherman, and was a lifelong sports mentor in football and wrestling to his grandson, Ben.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene Victor Stiehler, whom he married in Pittsburgh on July 18, 1970. Also surviving is a daughter, Chrissy R. Stiehler, of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren, Erica R. Wagner, of Pittsburgh, and Ben Kane, of Avonmore; three brothers, Robert W. “Bobby” Stiehler and his wife, Carla, Terry M. Stiehler and his wife, Shereen, and Warren V. Stiehler and his wife, Carolyn, all of Karns City; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, John and Kathy (Litzenburg) Stiehler; and a niece.

STIEHLER — Friends of Barry W. Stiehler, who died Thursday, July 10, 2025, will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at HILE FUNERAL HOME OF CHICORA, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Pistorius, pastor of Christ’s Family Church, officiating.
Members of Franklin St. John’s Trinity Masonic Lodge No. 221 will conduct a memorial service for their departed brother at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Members of the Chicora and Bradys Bend American Legion posts will accord military honors at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
