Staff Sgt. Jason A. Troup

Jason A. Troup, of Butler, retired from the U.S. Air Force as a staff sergeant.

Troup began his service in 2005 after waiting a year on the delayed entry program. His career in cyber defense operations began with his initial assignment as a telephone systems apprentice at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan. He moved to Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland in 2008.

Troup deployed to Afghanistan for 270 days to support Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2015, Troup moved to the Joint Warfare Analysis Center in Dahlgren, Virginia, where he served as cyber control manager. From 2019 to 2022, he was in cyber transport at the 20th Intelligence Squadron, before returning to Dahlgren in 2022.
