Betty Lambert
Betty J. Lambert, 92, of Harmony, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2025.
Born Feb. 5, 1933, in Fombell, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Pearl McKinnis Fischer.
Betty graduated from Zelienople High School and took courses at Penn State to become the first woman to work as a milk tester in Beaver County. She also graduated from the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy as a hairdresser and beautician. She worked at Passavant Retirement Center and Creek Meadows before opening her own beauty salon in 1954. She continued doing hair until 2023.
Betty also completed courses at Butler County Community College and volunteered for Harmony Ambulance for 11 years as an EMT. She received a certificate from AGH as a massage therapist. Betty also received a certification as a colon hydro therapist in Arizona where she worked for Health Natural. She later worked for Home Instead as a care professional in 2020.
Betty received a multitude of awards for her accomplishments, such as from the Business and Professional Women’s Foundation. The Rotary Club awarded her “Service Above Self.” The Chamber of Commerce honored her with “Distinguished Service” and “Outstanding Citizen” awards.
Betty marched as a majorette in the “Harmony Harmonetts,” twirled in the Zelienople High School Band and was a majorette for Rochester band from 1980 to 2022.
In 2022, she was featured in a mosaic hung on the Spring Street Studies building by artist, Daviea Davis.
Betty leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Sylvia Weaver, Debra Pflugh, David Minehart (April) and Kimberly Marburger (Larry); her stepchildren, Tresa Lambert and William F. Lambert Jr.; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Millie Fischer.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Minehart on Aug. 6, 1970; and her second husband, William “Pete” Lambert on March 17, 2005.
LAMBERT — Friends and family of Betty J. Lambert, who died Saturday, July 5, 2025, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 11, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
Betty’s last march will take place on Saturday, July 12, between 10:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. on Main Street in Zelienople.
A funeral service will be held immediately after at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, at Camp Run United Presbyterian Church, 489 Church Road, Harmony. (Friends please meet at church).
Betty will be laid to rest at Camp Run U.P. Church Cemetery.
