Quay Quinn

Quay “Jack” Quinn, 96, passed away peacefully May 28, 2025, just two days after celebrating his 96th birthday.

Born on May 26, 1929, Jack was born a coal miner’s son and raised alongside his six siblings, where he developed a lifelong appreciation for hard work, nature and family.

Jack proudly served in the National Guard before beginning a long and dedicated career with U.S. Steel, where he worked until retirement. He was a devoted member of his local church, an active Freemason and a loving husband, father and friend.

Above all, Jack was a family man. He shared 73 wonderful years with his beloved wife, Jean Elmina Quinn. Together, they raised two daughters, Connie Martin and Vicki Steffy, and built a life centered around love, laughter and togetherness.

Jack found joy in life’s simple pleasures — golfing, gardening, bird-watching, dancing and cooking — especially when he could share them with Jean. His kind heart, steady presence and quiet wisdom touched the lives of all who knew him.

The patriarch of the family; he leaves behind a legacy of individuals well loved: his wife Jean Quinn; two daughters, Vicki Steffy (Larry) and Connie Martin (Keith); four grandchildren, Chad Martin (Allison), Lacey Elrod (Dustin), Tina Masichuk (Preston), Matthew Zupsic and eight great-grandchildren.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

“Well done good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23
